Prof. J G Ray
Prof. J.G. Ray former director and Professor, School of Biosciences and Founder Director, National Institute of Plant Science Technology (NIPST), Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam is a distinguished authority in soil ecology and a pioneer in the field of plant science and sustainable agriculture. With a profound understanding of ecological balance, he has been instrumental in advancing research and education in soil health and plant sciences across the world. His dedication to sustainable agriculture is reflected in his role as a member of the Curriculum Committee for the Organic Farming Certificate Course at MG University, where he contributes to shaping the future of organic farming education. Prof. Ray earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. as a top-ranked student from Kerala University and was awarded the esteemed Dr. A. Abraham Gold Medal in 1984. His academic journey continued with a USSR Government Scholarship, leading to a Ph.D. in Soil Ecology from Dnipropetrovsk National University, USSR.
