Shri.K V Dayal was Born on October 26 1947 as the third son of Shri KG Vasu and Padmakshi in the Kalaritotungal family at Kayipuram in Muhamma Panchayat, Alappuzha District He created a great forest in a one and a half acre homestead and today he is becoming an example for the people of the world Known as the sanctuary, home to around 200 different species of trees, a thousand species of animals and small ponds, this place highlights the importance of forests in our ecosystem. In2006 he was honored by the Government of Kerala with the Vanamitra Award and the Vrishka Mitra Award for presenting his ideas on nature conservation and organic farming to the society In 2009 Mahatma Gandhi University of Kerala introduced the idea that traditional knowledge is not enough and it should be studied scientifically, and as a result, Organic Farming Certificate Course was started in 2011. Prof. J.G. Ray former director and Professor, School of Biosciences and Founder Director, National Institute of Plant Science Technology (NIPST), Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam is a distinguished authority in soil ecology and a pioneer in the field of plant science and sustainable agriculture. With a profound understanding of ecological balance, he has been instrumental in advancing research and education in soil health and plant sciences across the world. His dedication to sustainable agriculture is reflected in his role as a member of the Curriculum Committee for the Organic Farming Certificate Course at MG University, where he contributes to shaping the future of organic farming education. Prof. Ray earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. as a top-ranked student from Kerala University and was awarded the esteemed Dr. A. Abraham Gold Medal in 1984. His academic journey continued with a USSR Government Scholarship, leading to a Ph.D. in Soil Ecology from Dnipropetrovsk National University, USSR.
